MPD Reports: Owner Finds Bullet Holes in Her Car; cooking fire; domestic conflicts and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period November 17-24, 2022. Due to its length, this report has been divided into five parts. This is the last part. Please note that an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Residential fire – Green St. Male’s subject was cooking on the stove and the kitchen caught fire due to a grease fire. Turned over to the Monroe Fire Department.
  • Dispute – Mobley Cir – Complainant saying two men were arguing and one party threatened to shoot the other. The prosecution refused. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Irving St: In reference to the plaintiff who advised that several subjects were on hand trying to locate a minor who was ringing the phone at their residence. The owner consented to the search of the dwelling and she was not located inside the residence. All parties have left the location.
  • Dispute – E Spring St; Popeyes Chicken: In reference to the customer trying to get a refund due to an incorrect order. After further investigation, the customer used a third-party app and did not appear on the restaurant screen. appeals were advised and the parties were separated.
  • Narcotics – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton: In reference to a patient having a small amount of marijuana on her. The marijuana was collected and entered into evidence for destruction.
  • Domestic Dispute – E Church St: In reference to a verbal dispute between the parties on the spot. Report taken.
  • Foot Patrol – Sorrells St in reference to possible squatting in the area. He has active warrants for aggravated assault and violation of probation. Negative contact established.
  • Burglary – W Marable St; In reference to a complainant advising that approximately three men were attempting to break into his home with firearms. Upon arrival the area was checked with negative contact and no forced entry appears to have been made.
  • Suspicious Person – West Marable St. Complainant reporting subjects outside his residence did not leave him alone. He showed officers video footage of people. He said he smoked crystal meth about a week ago.
  • Suspicious Person – Sorrells Street – While checking the residence, contact was made between the squatter and a female subject. She was arrested for criminal trespassing, subpoenaed and released on the spot.
  • Shoplifting – West Spring Street @ Walmart; Male subject was caught shoplifting $27.40 worth of groceries and was the victim of a criminal trespass at Walmart. Report taken.
  • Civil matter – The complainant was advised of the civil procedure for her brother to obtain his property at his ex-girlfriend’s residence.
  • Minor’s Complaint – Wheelhouse Lane; : Regarding a minor harassing another minor. Juvenile issue between the children of two female subjects. Parental information has been exchanged regarding resolution of the issue. Everything was fine.
  • Suspicious – Davis St: The female subject was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants after being observed by officers. She was transported to the prison without any problem.
  • Dispute – W. Marable: Male subject having mental episode and hit neighbor. Report taken. Subject with mental episode was taken to Piedmont Walton for Order 1013.
  • Conflict – Reed Way: Parents disagreeing with their child’s living arrangements. Remedies were advised everything was determined ok.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Church St: in reference to an earlier call about a broken down vehicle.
  • Harassment – ​​Tall Oaks W: In reference to a male subject reporting that his neighbor was harassing him through a third party. Temporary protection order procedure explained and remedies advised.
  • Civil Issue – Reed Way: In reference to a female subject informing that a male subject took his daughter’s diaper bag and Christmas presents from their home. Civil procedure was explained and remedies were advised.
  • Suspicious Person – 6th Street: Female subject making suspicious statements to 911. After investigation, it was determined that she had been placed in the residence by Advantage in Athens. There is no running water or electricity in the house. She transported to Piedmont Walton. CID notified.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Pickers Paradise Antiques: Haven Inn resident sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot. Malé was informed of the consequences of the loitering and sent back on his way.
  • Property Damage – GW Carver Dr. Caller parked his car around 2000 last night and came out around 0600 that date to start the car and saw bullet holes in his car. Report taken.
  • Warrant Service – Alcovy St. With reference to a named subject with an active warrant. He was transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
  • Dispute – N Broad St – In reference to the manager requesting that a named man and woman be unlawfully allowed out of the location. The subjects received the warning and both refused to sign. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Hickory Dr. – In reference to an argument between an uncle and a niece, the parties agreed to be civil until the aunt came home to take the niece away.
  • Assault – Blaine St. – In reference to the assault of the plaintiff’s minor in the Monroe Estates recreation yard.
  • Dispute – Blaine Street – The complainant had questions about picking up items from her child’s father’s residence. Remedies were advised.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Landers St. In reference to miners entering vacant accommodation, firing a BB gun and carrying hoses. The parents indicated that they knew about it and were taking care of it.
  • Shoplifting – Walmart – In reference to a topic named not paying for a pair of PS4 headphones. He was arrested for shoplifting.
  • Traffic stop – E Spring St to N Lumpkin St. The vehicle was pulled over for an equipment violation. After investigation, the driver was arrested for masked tag and driving with a suspended license. He was arrested without incident.
  • Traffic Stop – E Highland Ave to N Midland Ave. The vehicle was pulled over for an equipment violation. After investigation, the driver was taken into custody for faulty equipment and driving with a suspended license. Subject was arrested without incident.
  • Demented Person – W Marable St – In reference to a male subject stating that he heard people walking around in the attic and his door was open when he arrived home. There was no sign of a break-in and no one in his apartment. Everything is fine.
  • Property Damage – Kendall Court – In reference to the plaintiff’s vehicle which was damaged overnight. She believes a named person is the person who damaged her vehicle. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Tanglewood Drive – In reference to Complainant and a named subject having a verbal dispute over the phone. Suggested remedies.
  • Conflict – Maple Street – In reference to the Complainant being upset that a named subject was on site and refusing to leave. It was explained that this was a civil issue due to the inability to confirm whether a domestic violence order was still in effect. A follow-up will be done on Monday. Suggested remedies.
