Save the Taiji Dolphins – Travel Animal Doctor

Jade here, the director at Travel Animal Doctor, reporting on the Taiji Dolphins. Czermak Photography / Foter / CC BY This morning humom called me up on the bed and rubbed my belly. When she began to pull her hand away and reach for her computer I begged her, “Not yet!” I wiggled closer to her so that she had no choice but to keep scratching. I get really excited when she speaks to me, and began to wag my tail when she asked me if she had ever told me about the dolphins. You haven’t, not yet, but I would love to hear about them, I barked with a wag of my tail. The Story Humom spent some time at an aquarium where she helped ultrasound dolphins. She described each individual personality of her patients with a twinkle in her eyes. She recalled a young’n who was spritely and quite the trouble maker. The adolescent listened but only when his independence was won over by some yummy fish. There was an older female who had unbelievable patience and tolerance for the adolescent and the ultrasound procedure. They were an extraordinary spectacle to behold and their antics provided quite a show. Much like I offered my belly to my humom, the dolphins flipped over to present their own bellies for use of the ultrasound. They were well trained and made it relatively easy to perform the brief check ups. When enough was enough, the adolescent splashed at the doctors in an attempt to get them soaked as he swam away. Inquisitively I looked at humom, as if to ask her...
Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie – Travel Animal Doctor

Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie – Travel Animal Doctor

Even though the summer is coming to an end, the time of the year is not about to mark the end of my smoothie making endeavors.  – Travel Animal Doctor There is too much enjoyment to be had in making smoothies. It is so easy to mix the flavors of different fruits and ingredients.  The taste of a fresh, nutritious and quick breakfast, lunch or dessert is only a minute of blending away. Though sugar was not used in this recipe, the sweet taste of the strawberries and agave nectar are a force to be reckoned with in this smoothie.  At first, the addition of the cottage cheese made me a little hesitant of whether or not I would like the taste of the strawberry cheesecake smoothie.  I have never been a fan of cottage cheese. I also doubted that it would taste like cheesecake at all. Fortunately, the gut feeling that this strawberry cheesecake smoothie recipe would be tasty won over my fears. The flavor really did trick me into thinking that all of the ingredients were the same as ingredients necessary to make a strawberry cheesecake. By watching my sugar intake alone, I have managed to lose 7 lbs this month.  When I get cravings for sugar I still make sure my “sugar cheat” is less than 24 grams. A smoothie is often my “sugar cheat” of the day. Once a week I will not pay as much attention to my sugar intake to give me a break for the rest of the week. Since this smoothie has agave nectar, whipped cream, strawberries, and cottage cheese, of which all containing sugar,...

Fresh and Light Smoothie- Travel Animal Doctor

Fresh and Light Smoothie – Travel Animal Doctor Healthy Vegetarian Fresh and Light Smoothie Recipe at Travel Animal Doctor As the adage goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.  I generally do not like eating apples, so incorporating them into a smoothie is the perfect solution. According to an article in Livescience, apples are so healthy, that they can lessen the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease and asthma. Additional benefits of apples include bone health, gastrointestinal protection and weight management. Apples are an incredible source of Vitamin C especially the apple skin. One important fact to remember about apples are that the seeds (called pips) contain cyanide.  The cyanide toxin can harm cats, dogs and horses. According to ASPCA, the leaves, seeds, and stems of apples contain cyanide, and are especially toxic during the wilting process. Above is a collage of pictures taken while Travel Animal Doctor made her latest fresh and light smoothie.   Chia seeds have higher antioxidant properties than blueberries and are a nutritiously delicious ingredient in this fresh and light smoothie from Travel Animal Doctor.   Above are some of the ingredients of Travel Animal Doctor’s fresh and light smoothie.    Here is the finished product, the Fresh and Light Smoothie from Travel Animal Doctor. A New Director at Travel Animal Doctor

Hi, Jessica here, writing about the training of a new director here at Travel Animal Doctor. New Director Signing In Jade has agreed to take over my blogging responsibilities while I tend to some other tasks at hand. She is the smartest dog I have had the honor of knowing (no biases at all coming from her humom 😉), and I believe my shoes will be filled very easily. She will be publishing my articles and writing some of her own. Please give Jade some patience as this will be the first time that it is her primary responsibility to take over the Travel Animal Doctor blog. Congratulations Jade As Jade’s mind is very versatile there is no telling what she is going to write about, but we are eager to see. Without further adieu, meet our “We’ve Got Personality” news reporter, Jade. Congratulations on your promotion here at Travel Animal Doctor, Jade! Jade’s Induction Hi guys, thanks for reading this important news update here at Travel Animal Doctor. While my humom is doing her thing, I will be sure to fulfill her professional Travel Animal Doctor blog terms. We will still be submitting a Tantalizing Tuesday vegetarian or vegan human recipe. I will also do my best to publish Travel Animal Doctor updates and articles on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. Human Lives are Short; Mine is Shorter Humom may be on the road for a short time here soon. I was discussing with her that if she hopes to live until at least 85 and my average life span is 12 in human years, my time goes by seven times as...
