Surprise your valentine with delectable potato candies.

The above picture is an example of what the candy dough will look like after combination of all ingredients except the peanut butter. The consistency of the dough is slightly firm, easily malleable to flatten. The dough can immediately be rolled out when firm. Alternatively after making the dough, it can be refrigerated for an hour to allow for the dough to become chilled. Smoothing out the dough may be easier after letting the dough set and chill in the refrigerator.

Words cannot express a candy so sweet as these candies made from potato.

Once the potato candy dough is rolled out to a 1 centimeter width, a thin layer of peanut butter can be applied across the candy exterior.

Smooth peanut butter often makes the potato candy making process less difficult. If one is a nutty peanut butter fan, it will taste great but may have a messier appearance once complete. The peanut butter should be applied in a thinner layer then that of the potato candy dough. This will allow the dough to hold its form once rolling the candy up in pinwheel formation.

A smooth layer of perfection too tasty to forget.

Store bought peanut butter can be found at almost any grocery or convenient store in the United States. Natural peanut butters are also becoming quite common at natural health food stores country wide. Alternatively, many dry mixes of peanut butter powder can be found in organic sections of grocery stores. Following the directions on the back of the container, these fine pressed powders often only need to be combined with a small portion of water to become a smooth homemade peanut butter.

Rolled from one side to another, this potato candy takes its form.

The potato candy is all rolled up into immaculate perfection.

Often the center of the potato candy is thicker than the ends. In order to even out the candies, peanut butter can be pushed to the corners of the dough. The tighter the pinwheel, the neater the end result will be. Once the roll is made, it can be cut by 1.5 cm slices. In order to form the heart shape, just pinch the center of the pinwheel together to allow two rounded out points at top. The bottom can be curved sharply for the point of the valentine heart.
