Inspirational Pet Bloggers from BlogPaws 2015: Part II

Inspirational Pet Bloggers from BlogPaws 2015: Part II This is a continuation of my first post entitled, “Inspirational Pet Bloggers from BlogPaws 2015: Part I”. I attended the 2015 Blog Paws conference in Nashville, TN a few weeks ago and during that time, I met many outstanding bloggers. It became difficult for me to finish my a”paws”, err.. applause.. at just one post. In my last article, I wrote about four outstanding bloggers who I give two paws up. This post is my “Part II” sharing my admiration for bloggers from BlogPaws 2015. 5. Helping Hands Affordable Veterinary Surgery & Dental Care I am extremely interested in checking out Helping Hands Affordable Veterinary Surgery and Dental Care, as it is in Richmond, VA, close to where I reside. I am inspired by the mission for the clinic, to avoid euthanasia by providing low cost surgery for your pet. “Be Chilly’s P.E.E.P” by doing your part in becoming a, “preventing economic euthanasia partner” today. If your pet needs surgery and you do not know if you can cover it, check out the prices of surgeries at Helping Hands Affordable Veterinary Surgery and Dental Care. 6. Beagles and Bargains I was fortunate to have recognized Luna on my way to the car to go to the airport. Since her owner is also a blogger from Northern Virginia who enjoys hiking, it is funny to me that the first time I met Luna was in Tennessee. Beagles and Bargains is a smart and handy blog set up to talk about deals and ideas to keep your pet happy and healthy without breaking the pocket...

Inspirational Pet Bloggers from BlogPaws 2015: Part I

Inspirational Pet Bloggers from BlogPaws 2015: Part I It was quite a treat meeting the pet bloggers from BlogPaws 2015 conference. The bark-tastic business conference, BlogPaws, took over the Sheraton Music City Hotel on May 28-30, 2015 with a howl. While I was only able to attend for a day, it was a really great experience meeting extremely talented fellow bloggers from the BlogPaws community. I was not able to run into everybody that I would have liked to, but there is always next year! The people I did manage to run into were as wonderful and accepting as they have been to me since the creation of this blog a few months ago. I am also eager to keep in touch with all of the new people I have met, many of whom, ended up living extremely close to me! Thank you to the many caring and fantastic pet bloggers from BlogPaws 2015, for making my trip to Nashville, TN a ball. 1. Tom Collins First, and foremost, I want to thank Tom Collins, the Director of Education, Development & Recruiting for BlogPaws. As a first time attendee, I was nervous and unsure where to go after attending the keynote speaker. I recognized Tom Collins in the lobby from the BlogPaws website, and was happy to see a familiar face. After introducing myself, he introduced me to sponsors and some fellow veterinarians. With his guidance, I was introduced to many people I may have otherwise not had the chance to meet. 2. A Tonk's Tail A Tonk’s Tail is a pet blog about three stunning and “opinionated cats”. Not only are these cats...
Peanut Buttana Smoothie – Travel Animal Doctor

Peanut Buttana Smoothie – Travel Animal Doctor

The peanut buttana smoothie tastes similar to a healthy version of a peanut butter and banana sandwich. – Travel Animal Doctor If you are trying to avoid the night munchies, this peanut buttana smoothie works as a good substitute to the usual chips and dip. While there is a very banana flavor to this smoothie, the smooth peanut butter and greek yogurt taste ensures that the banana does not overpower the drink. As you can tell, the photographs were taken as the sun was setting. This was a true night time treat to stave off my urge to snack while watching my evening shows. The great thing about putting bananas in a smoothie is that if your bananas are extra ripe you can throw them in a smoothie instead of having to throw them away. This of course should be done at your own discretion, as I do not condone using bad bananas. 😉 Ingredients The ingredients pictured below are the majority of ingredients within the recipe with the exception of the unsweetened almond milk and cinnamon. In front are the chia seeds, with the greek yogurt to the right side. The peanut butter is pictured in the back with the two bananas on the far right. 2 bananas 1 c. plain greek yogurt 3 Tbs. smooth peanut butter 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. chia seeds 1/2 c. unsweetened original almond milk Serving size 16 ounces Directions 1) Combine ingredients in your blender and mix thoroughly. 2) The consistency of your smoothy will be semi-thick and creamy. 3) Enjoy your peanut buttana smoothie! Review I like using chia seeds...

Awesome Con 2015 – Travel Animal Doctor

Awesome Con 2015 in Washington, D.C. had many animal-friendly companies present. -Travel Animal Doctor It was my husband’s birthday, so to celebrate we went to Awesome Con 2015 to meet the people who were the voices of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Splinter for the newest movie, as well as the creator of the original ninja turtles and the original April O’ Neil, Judith Hoag. We were able to get a photograph with the original Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle crew, and received their autographs. There were hundreds of booths set up with talented artists and companies. Meeting the Original April O’ Neil The highlight of my day was a ten minute conversation I had with Judith Hoag about her rescued dog, who she considers part of her family. Judith Hoag noticed that I had bought artwork done by the very talented artist, Scott Straka. Scott Straka sold me autographed artwork of Scott Wilson, the actor of the veterinarian, Hershel Greene, from The Walking Dead. Judith Hoag’s neighbor is Scott Wilson, and she was eager to go home and share the news with him that she met a big fan of his, a veterinarian from Virginia. I have always been a big fan of Hershel Greene. After Hershel was killed in The Walking Dead, I lost my hope for the show. The only reason I continued to watch the series was because other family members enjoyed the show, and we watched it together at family gatherings. I especially enjoyed the quote that Scott Wilson included on the artwork. “..We all have a job to do..” My job today entails...

2015 Blog Paws Conference- Travel Animal Doctor

As a first time attendee at the annual 2015 Blog Paws Conference in Nashville, TN, I had a blast. – Travel Animal Doctor I met many bloggers in person that I have been communicating with online. Additionally, the 2015 Blog Paws Conference gave me the opportunity to form many new relationships with fellow bloggers and brands. I will be going more in depth about the brands and people I have met in the upcoming weeks. Today I want to summarize and highlight some of the cool brand booths at the 2015 Blog Paws Conference. 1. PetTutor The PetTutor feeding bowl appears to be a great training tool for pets. It is a remote controlled pet-food dish that releases food on command. PetTutor is also working on bluetooth technology that would allow feeding your animal from any blue-tooth enabled location. 2. Bissel The Pawsitively Clean Bissel Carpet Cleaning Machine appears to do a great job cleaning up after your pet. Many PetSmart stores rent the carpet cleaning machine out to pet families. DogIDs DogIDs offers collars, tags, leashes, bowls, beds, along with a vast array of other products for your dog.
