Pumpkin Hummus

Pumpkin Hummus

For a splash of Halloween fun next year, consider this yummy pumpkin hummus. It takes less than five minutes to make and is an easy addition to a meal or quick snack. With just six ingredients, this pumpkin hummus is easy and convenient. Try this pumpkin hummus today and let me know what you think!   The Easy Pumpkin Hummus Recipe: Ingredients: 2 TBS tahini 2 c. pumpkin 1 garlic clove 1 tsp. olive oil 1/2 tsp. ground cumin salt (to taste) Directions: Combine tahini, pumpkin, garlic clove, olive oil and ground cumin. Mix ingredients completely until smooth. Add salt to taste. Voila! Your pumpkin hummus is ready to eat. Tips and Review: If a fresh clove of garlic is not on hand, minced garlic can be used instead. To avoid putting too much minced garlic in, find a measurement that is equivalent to one clove. The hummus tastes fresh and the pumpkin flavor makes it unique and enjoyably and naturally sweeter than regular hummus. As a firm believer that  half of the taste is in the presentation, the pretty orange color of the hummus is a welcoming sight to behold. I made the mistake of freezing the hummus when the family could not finish it. While freezing is a possible option for your leftover hummus, the condensation tends to water down the hummus.  For this reason, I do not recommend freezing. This appetizer tastes great along with pretzels or fresh baked pita bread. I especially enjoyed choosing my own seasoning for the baked pita bread, and eating it warm and fresh out of the oven.
