Raspberry Inspired Key Lime Pie- Travel Animal Doctor

If you are looking for a sweet and tasty dessert, look no further than this Raspberry Inspired Key Lime Pie recipe. – Travel Animal Doctor Creating this pie crust is quick and easy. The combination of the saltine cracker crust and the sweet pie interior makes the key lime pie recipe sweet and salty.   Pie crust ingredients: Vegetable cooking spray 1.5 c. Crushed saltine crackers 6 Tbsp. melted butter 1/4 c. Sugar Directions: 1) Combine sugar and crackers in food processor and crush until fine. 2) Add melted butter and process until thoroughly mixed. 3) Lightly grease a 9 inch pie plate with vegetable oil. 4) Set aside until pie filling is completed. Above is the delicious key lime pie in it’s entirety. Add raspberries or slices of lime to taste. Under the camera this slice of key lime pie was literally sublime ( pun slightly intended). Pie filling ingredients: 3 c. sweetened condensed milk 3/4 c. fresh lime juice 1/2 c. sour cream 1 Tbsp. grated lime zest Preheat: 350 degrees Fahrenheit Directions: Combine the condensed milk, lime juice, sour cream and lime zest and mix completely. Pour mixture into the saltine cracker pie crust. Bake pie for 5-8 minutes in the oven until tiny bubbles are evident bursting on the surface of the pie. Place pie in the refrigerator to chill before serving. Garnish with raspberries and serve. Top with whipped cream if desired. Review: I felt like this raspberry inspired key lime pie was a personal masterpiece. While lime slices as garnish would work just as well, the addition of raspberries offered a hint of berry to the finished dessert. While...
Cumberland Trail, Chattanooga TN- Travel Animal Doctor

Cumberland Trail, Chattanooga TN- Travel Animal Doctor

The Cumberland Trail in Chattanooga, Tennessee is known for unique rock formations and picturesque views. – Travel Animal Doctor Entering this state park by way of the North Chickamauga Creek Segment allows you to enjoy a brisk walk down to the creek to find crawdads before taking a breathtaking hike up the Hogskin Loop to the Coal Tipple Remnants and Open Mine. This state park is pet-friendly and parking is free at the North Chickamauga Creek Segment. If you choose to take the Lower Hogskin Loop, I recommend that you take caution when hiking with your dog. As you ascend up the trail there are points in which the loop becomes pretty steep. If your version of a dog walk is your dog walking you, this trail may be too sharp of an incline. The climb is exhilarating, and is for the most part canopied by trees. While the ample shade shelters you from the hot basking sun in the summer, mosquito repellant is highly recommended. Taking the Lower Hogskin Loop requires a moderate to high activity level for beginner hikers.  I am able to hike every other weekend if I am lucky, and I found some parts of the hike rather difficult. If you watch the ground you many notice centipedes and toads. Small wildflowers can be found alongside of the Lower Hogskin Loop trail. As an amateur hiker, it took me three to four hours to leisurely hike a littler further than the open mine and back to the parking lot. I did not make it to the Wood Stairs or the Boston Branch Overlook. While ascent up the Lower Hogskin...

Save the Taiji Dolphins – Travel Animal Doctor

Jade here, the director at Travel Animal Doctor, reporting on the Taiji Dolphins. Czermak Photography / Foter / CC BY This morning humom called me up on the bed and rubbed my belly. When she began to pull her hand away and reach for her computer I begged her, “Not yet!” I wiggled closer to her so that she had no choice but to keep scratching. I get really excited when she speaks to me, and began to wag my tail when she asked me if she had ever told me about the dolphins. You haven’t, not yet, but I would love to hear about them, I barked with a wag of my tail. The Story Humom spent some time at an aquarium where she helped ultrasound dolphins. She described each individual personality of her patients with a twinkle in her eyes. She recalled a young’n who was spritely and quite the trouble maker. The adolescent listened but only when his independence was won over by some yummy fish. There was an older female who had unbelievable patience and tolerance for the adolescent and the ultrasound procedure. They were an extraordinary spectacle to behold and their antics provided quite a show. Much like I offered my belly to my humom, the dolphins flipped over to present their own bellies for use of the ultrasound. They were well trained and made it relatively easy to perform the brief check ups. When enough was enough, the adolescent splashed at the doctors in an attempt to get them soaked as he swam away. Inquisitively I looked at humom, as if to ask her...
