Cocoa Avocado Smoothie

This Minty Cocoa Avocado Smoothie offers the sustenance and energy our family needs in the morning. Ingredients: 2 c. spinach 1 c. chocolate protein powder 1/2 c. water 1 c. unsweetened almond or coconut milk Drop of mint extract OR 1/4 c. mint 1/2 avocado 1 TBSP chocolate chips 4 ice cubes 1 TBSP honey Preparation Time:      10 minutes Serving Size: Serves 1 Directions: Put ingredients in a blender. Blend ingredients until smooth and creamy texture is accomplished. Enjoy your Minty Cocoa Avocado Smoothie! My Review: Combating that fog over my mind in the morning is sometimes no easy feat. While I enjoy coffee every once and a while it is not my go to drink. Since I do not often have caffeine, when I do drink coffee it sometimes makes me jittery for five minutes and then suddenly my energy level plummets. I do not get this same response with the minty cocoa avocado smoothie.  This cocoa avocado smoothie wakes me up and seems to clear that fog away for the rest of the day. The green color can be quite intimidating to those who do not regularly drink smoothies.  While it looks quite bizarre and border-line unappetizing, the taste proves my eyes wrong every time. The cocoa and mint flavors are the prominent tastes in the smoothie. I attribute the creaminess of the smoothie to the avocado and milk. Possible Modifications: Change Thickness: While I only used 1/2 c. of water, I could probably add another 1/2 c. of water if I wanted to adjust the thickness of the smoothie.
