Carmelized Sesame Chickpeas This Carmelized sesame chickpeas recipe is gluten-free and vegetarian. After the holidays I always feel guilty about how much I let myself eat. Often there are just too many delicious foods to “taste” and then devour. Trying to get back into the mood to eat healthy and exercise can be difficult after I am able to relax and let myself go. For this reason I decided to find a healthy food that is also sweet enough to satisfy that sugar craving. Sweet and Crunchy These carmelized sesame chickpeas are crunchy and sweet. They are perfect in a salad, as a side dish, as a snack, or for a healthy dessert. Every time I feel like munching on a small snack at night, a handful of carmelized sesame chickpeas is a taste of satisfaction. Shown here are the chickpeas, which were removed from the can and thoroughly washed with water. The chickpeas are then spread out on a cookie sheet. Shown above are the ingredients that will be all mixed together and poured over top of the chickpeas before being put in the oven. Wah-la! The carmelized sesame chickpeas are baked, and with all their sticky goodness, are ready to be consumed. Ingredients 2 (15 oz) cans of chickpeas 3 tsp extra virgin olive oil 1/4 c. Honey 1/4 c.
