It’s Almost Smoothie Season! – Travel Animal Doctor

Since it is almost smoothie season, what are you going to drink? -Travel Animal Doctor Swimsuit season is on my mind with the winter weather behind us.  This can only mean one thing: It’s almost smoothie season! Smoothies are a summer favorite in this household. Benefits of smoothies include: 1) Jam-packed with fruit and vegetables to help fulfill your daily requirement 2) Natural vitamins and minerals 3) Naturally sweet taste without having to use sugar Nutritious Basically, smoothies are both nutritious and delicious. This morning the Nutri-Bullet was dusted off and put to work. A specific recipe was not followed since there were a hodge-podge of ingredients in the fridge. It is fun to experiment with new combinations sometimes however you do not always know how they will turn out. Following a recipe that is tried and true helps you to find one that will appease your taste buds. The only con about following a recipe is having the necessary ingredients. Because it almost smoothie season upon us, I will be adding healthy recipes that I thoroughly enjoy as I try them. Until then, I would like to discuss my favorite smoothie ingredients. My favorite ingredients to smoothies are: Unsweetened Almond Milk Frozen Kale Original Greek Yogurt Chia Seeds Fruit Seeds and Nuts I did not have chia seeds for this particular smoothie. I like using chia seeds because they are a powerful addition to any diet. They taste great in a smoothie, and supplement omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and some protein into your diet.
